Charlotte Riordan has been a central figure in the Fine Art department at Lyon & Turnbull for over ten years, heading up the company’s Contemporary Art sales and co-conceiving and developing our MODERN MADE auctions in London.
An experienced and well-regarded specialist with over 15 years industry experience, Charlotte has a broad field of knowledge across Scottish, Modern British and Contemporary Art.
With a particular passion for contemporary art, Charlotte is proud to champion young talent where she can; delivering the annual Graduate Showcase Award at Lyon & Turnbull. In her spare time she spent several years as the co-curator of the art programme for Edinburgh’s Hidden Door Festival, a programme of young artistic talent in disused spaces within the city. Her writing has also appeared in numerous publications, encompassing exhibition and book reviews.
Charlotte is also well known for her work as a recurring art expert on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, on which she has appeared since 2018 alongside Katherine Wright, Jamie Russell & Theo Burrell.
After graduating from the University of Glasgow (History of Art MA) in 2008, Charlotte began her career at the prestigious Fine Art Society, Edinburgh where she acquired an in depth knowledge of Scottish art across a breadth of periods. At Lyon & Turnbull, in addition to heading up sales Charlotte delivers academic talks and panel discussions, handles specialist and corporate collections, and orchestrates charity auctions.
