Sophie Churcher is a co-founder and director of Tomkinson Churcher, an art consultancy specialising in auctions, valuations, and collection management.
Sophie began her career at Christie’s London in 2005 after completing a BA (Hons) in Art History at the University of Sussex. She became Associate Director in the Vintage Posters department, where she developed a particular expertise in 20th-century graphic design and catalogued major collections for institutions including the London Transport Museum and the Shell Heritage Art Collection.
In 2016, she co-founded Tomkinson Churcher with Nicolette Tomkinson, bringing together over 45 years of combined experience in the international art market. Their clients include the All England Lawn Tennis Club and The Poster House New York.
Sophie has contributed to several publications on poster art, including Mid Century Modern Complete (Thames & Hudson), and has a long-standing personal passion for London Underground posters.
