Drummond Vol. IX” inside and “IX9” to fore-edge, and is filled with commentaries and arguments on Biblical passages, written largely from the top of the page down, then changing direction at some point, from the bottom of the page up, binding detached, textblock split, several gatherings loose, a transcription of the main part of the first page reads: Received this volume from Mrs McNaughton of Vaughan U.C. [Upper Canada, i.e. Ontario] Who Had it from her Maternal Uncle Alexd McLauren Esq of Broich Perthshire Scotland, a Great Grandson of the Author — There were one hundred & Seventy Volumes of the Same Kind all of the Same author besides many other M.S.S. in the Library at Broich ___ W. Rintoul, October 14th 18[3?]9, bookplate of The Fraser Institute Free Public Library, Montreal, Presented by Willam Rintout [seemingly a misspelling of Rintoul]
