An early 18th century Scottish Cavalery basket hilted back sword,
the hilt of Stirling type with knuckle-guards pierced with hearts and fluted, small scroll wrist guard, oval inner guard, dome shaped fluted pommel, rayskin grip bound with a single twist of silver wire, buff leather liner covered with scarlet felt, the single edge blade with initials IH at the ricasso, with iron mounted contemporary black leather scabbard
