Footnote
David Gauld’s artworks can broadly be divided into two categories: Art Nouveau-inflected decorative figure studies, and soft-toned landscape and cattle scenes. A commensurate Glasgow Boy, David Gauld was ‘more concerned with the moods of nature than with mere transcription of facts’, and his signature cattle paintings were celebrated for their ‘tenderness and veracity’.
