Note: The first page lists in a clerk's hand 32 members subscribing 10s 6d each with the exception of the first name, John Dalyell, who subscribes £1.1s. All but eight are marked as paid. The second page lists a further twelve members subscribing 10s 6d each, these in varying hands. It was a few years after this that the new gold medal was purchased from Mackay & Cunningham of Edinburgh.
