A formal document declaring an obligation by the Town Council of St Andrews (single folio manuscript page), granting the Golfers use of the Town Hall Kitchen, &c., signed by the individual members of the Town Council granting use to the Society of Golfers from 5th Sept 1817 and dated 1st October, watermarked 1815, folded, creased and the top edge ragged but without loss

Note: At this early period the Society of Golfers did not yet have their own rooms and used parts of the Town Hall and the Union Tavern.
