Kate Allen was a freelance jeweller and buckle maker often subcontracted by Hutton's. She studied at Goldsmiths' College, New Cross, London and was mentioned in The Studio magazine of 1899 in an article about The National Competition where she won a silver medal for her “dainty clasps and buckles”.
