22nd July 1730. 2 leaves (33.5 x 23cm), in Italian and Spanish in a secretary's neat italic hand, signed by Charles at foot of second leaf ‘Yo el Rey’ ('I the King') above several countersignatures, concerning a report submitted by Dr. Nicola Sola, procurator of the municipality of Morcone in the Kingdom of Naples, regarding the criminal actions and excesses ‘delle cause criminali de gli eccessi’ committed by Dr. Francesco Caraf(f)a, prince of Colobrano (Colubrano), against the municipality ('universita') and the citizens of Morcone, and the prince's delaying tactics in responding to imperial orders issued two years previously (the letter concludes by requesting that the orders be implemented without further delay), verso of second leaf with Latin annotation in a different hand, dated Naples August 1730, and with the original embossed wax and paper seal, both sheets with creasing, edge wear and repairs to margins resulting in slight loss of text, scattered light foxing, and fading to the signature

Under the terms of the Treaty of Rastatt in 1714, the Kingdom of Naples was given to Charles VI the Holy Roman Emperor, and remained under Austrian control until 1734. Aloys Thomas Raimund, Count von Harrach zu Rohrau (1669-1742) served as Viceroy in Naples from 1728 to 1733
