4 large grisaille gouaches, signed and dated, mounted, framed and glazed, mount apertures 47 x 87cm, unidentified coat of arms with motto ‘Pro Alis et Scientia’ gilt to mounts, inset captions (with artist's name misspelt ‘Davies’) reading ‘Designs for Vertical Take-off Aeroplanes’, ‘Designs for Vertical Take-Off Aircraft including a Design for a Rolls Royce ‘Flying Bedstead’’, ‘The Development of Supersonic Aircraft’, ‘Fighter Plane Attacking Techniques’ (4)

During the First World War George Horace Davis was head of aerial diagrams for the Royal Flying Corps and an official war artist. He later became a founding member of the Society of Aviation Artists.
