Footnote
Zhu Menglu (1826–1900), also know as Zhu Cheng, was a master of freehand flower-and-bird painting. He inherited and further developed Yun Shouping's "boneless" technique, employing brushwork that was both concise and vivid, with elegant and understated colouring. He was particularly skilled at depicting the dynamics of birds, creating paintings full of vitality and charm. His works combined the refined taste of literati with the aesthetic appeal of the common people, and were widely popular in the art market.
朱夢廬 (1826-1900), 朱偁,是一位寫意花鳥畫大師。他繼承並發展了惲壽平的沒骨法,用筆簡練生動,敷色淡雅,尤其精於刻畫禽鳥的動態,畫面極富生機與情趣,作品兼具文人雅趣與市民審美,廣受市場歡迎。
