A Glasgow School of Art alumna, Sheila Macdonald is known for her quietly elegant silverwork, marked by refined silhouettes and soft surface textures.
Her practice is rooted in hand-raising and planishing techniques, allowing her to shape subtle, organic forms with a highly tactile finish.
Macdonald’s work often engages with themes of memory, vessel, and containment, producing bowls and containers that feel both timeless and contemporary. Her surfaces may be patinated or brushed to create softness and depth.
She has shown with The Scottish Gallery, Dovecot Studios, and in group exhibitions of contemporary Scottish silver including Elements Festival held at Lyon & Turnbull and Hamilton & Inches.
