Qian Huian, courtesy name Jisheng, was the first president of the "Yuyuan Calligraphy and Painting Benevolent Association" and one of the representative figures of the Shanghai School.
He started his career as a folk painter, and his figures were mostly auspicious and celebratory subjects, with plump and fortunate appearances. He uniquely incorporated self-portraits into his paintings, infusing folk art with the style of literati painting. Cheng Shifa praised him as the "Master of Shanghai School."
錢慧安 (1833-1911)
字吉生，是「豫園書畫善會」的首任會長，海派代表人物之一。他早年出身民間畫師，筆下人物多為喜慶吉祥題材，造型豐潤，頗有福相。他獨創以自畫像入畫，將文人畫風帶入民間藝術，程十髮譽其為「海派藝術宗師」。
