Octavio Sardà founded his eponymous brand of jewellery in 1958 in Spain. He initially trained in the workshops of the regarded Spanish jewellers Josep Llovera before branching out with his own designs which are characterised by bold gold creations.
One of Sardà's significant contributions was the design of the coat of arms of Constitutional Spain which he presented, in person, to King Juan Carlos I in 1983. He also collaborated with Salvador Dalí on the creation of a series of 42 bronze sculptures, now part of the Reynolds Morse Foundation at the Dali Museum in St Petersburg, Florida.
Despite not having their own stores, for a time they hosted exhibitions in their own homes, Sardà's work became stocked at top jewellery stores and exported throughout Europe, the U.S. and South America. Now retired, the firm is run by his daughter Eulàlia Sardà.
