Mabel Sefton was a British sculptor, metalworker and occasional painter, born in Leytonstone, Essex. She studied at Manchester School of Art from 1899 to 1902 before establishing a practice focused principally on metalwork and sculpture.
Active in these fields from around 1903 to 1910, Sefton exhibited with the Clarion Guild of Handicraft in Manchester in 1904. Her work was subsequently shown at the Royal Academy and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, between 1907 and 1910. Her career reflects the increasingly visible role of women in British sculpture and metalwork during the early twentieth century.
