Lyon & Turnbull is delighted to present our upcoming auction DESIGN Since 1860, on view from Sunday 12 to Thursday 16 April 2026 at our Broughton Place saleroom in Edinburgh.
Held during our 200th year, the sale reflects Lyon & Turnbull’s long-standing commitment to the study, presentation and sale of design and decorative arts. Spanning more than 150 years of innovation, the auction brings together significant works from the Arts & Crafts and Aesthetic Movements, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, through to the Modern movement.
Head of Sale John Mackie and our experienced Design team have assembled a strong selection that already includes works by Morris & Co., W.A.S. Benson and C.R. Ashbee, alongside By Hammer & Hand: Silver from a Private Collection, featuring pieces by Gilbert Marks, the Guild of Handicraft, Omar Ramsden, H.G. Murphy and Georg Jensen.
The sale also features works by Ernest Gimson, Edward Barnsley, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and A.W.N. Pugin, Martin Brothers ceramics, designs by Arts & Crafts architect Charles Spooner, and pieces from the estate of the artist Elyse Ashe Lord.
We invite you to visit our Broughton Place saleroom to view the auction in person. No appointment is required, simply drop in, and our specialists will be on hand to offer insight and guidance.
We look forward to welcoming you.
