Neptune drawn by sea horses, and preceded by Tritons, bearing emblematic devices …London: Stampa & Son, March 14, 1806. Framed, large size.
Note: Le Quesne 62. The Tritons carry flags inscribed the “Battle of the Nile” and the “Battle of Copenhagen. A mermaid holds a flag on which are named the six vessels captured or sunk in the Battle of Trafalgar. In this version of the picture a Triton holds aloft a replica of a castle. In another version (Le Quesne 61) he holds aloft a model of the Victory.
