Assay Master Archibald Ure, of bullet form, on slightly domed circular foot, with ball finial to the domed cover, straight spout and heavy scroll handle, with diaper and fringed chevron engraved border where the cover meets the body and decorative scroll hinge, initial EC in script beneath the spout

Note:
The spherical or 'bullet' form of this teapot, is regarded as a traditionally Scottish design. The restrained narrow band of engraved decoration around the shoulder is also characteristic of Scottish hollow ware of this period.
It is known that a jeweller and silversmith called 'Tate' accompanied Prince Charles Edward Stuart back to France in 1746.
