Features editor of Vogue from 1937-44 and an inveterate traveller, Blanch has written a string of highly successful books including Sabres of Paradise, Pierre Loti and The Wilder Shores of Love. Her huge circle of friends included Nancy Mitford, George Cukor, Violet Trefusis and President Mitterand to name but a few.
