The Iliad of Homer. London: W. Bowyer, for Bernard Lintott, 1715-20. 6 volumes, Folio, engraved frontispiece to volume 1 and with 2 engraved plates and folding leaf with 2 maps, volume 2 lacking the map as frontispiece but with errata, volume 3 lacking the final blank, volume 4 lacking the blank leaf between pp. 123 and 125, volume 5 with 1 folding engraving of the Shield of Achilles by Samuel Gribelin facing p. 129 (and not p. 144 as called for by Griffith 115), [AND] The Odyssey of Homer; translated from the Greek. London: printed for Bernard Lintot [sic], 1725-26. 5 volumes, engraved frontispiece by Vertue to volume 1, volume 1 with large vignette on the titlepage and with the titlepage in red and black, volumes 2, 4 and 5 with titlepage in red and black, and with head and tailpieces, together 11 volumes uniformly bound in contemporary mottled calf, spines decorated gilt in compartments, some wear to joints, heads and tails, some occasional paper discolouration and a few instances of light staining, very neat repairs to the outer corners of pp. 129-132 of volume 1 (11)
