Photograph album, comprising 120 photographs, mostly albumen prints, late C.19th, including c.27 views of the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum, tomb of the Hongwu Emperor, in Nanking, two images of the Six Harmonies Pagoda in Hangzhou and a series of images of historic Beijing, including a view of the of the Yonghe Temple and a view of the Zongli Yamen, the Qing government's Foreign Office

Provenance: From the collection of the Merchant and Anthroposophist Johannes Gottfried William Schröder (1870-1942).
Note: Most of these photographs are by Thomas Child (1841-1898). There are seven panoramic views of Genoa by Alfred Noack (1833-1895) and four views of Egypt by Adelphoi Zangaki (the Zangaki Brothers) (active 1870s-1890s). There are also eight hand coloured photographs of Japan, including a view of the Moon Temple at Kobe and a view of the Kasuga temple in Nara.
