A display of heraldry. London: T.W. for R. and J. Bonwicke and R. Wilkin, etc., 1724. 6th edition, 2 volumes in 1, title-page in red and black, with numerous illustrations of arms in the text, for the most part hand coloured, 66 engraved plates (of which 17 are portraits) later full brown morocco, panelled in blind, gilt arms of Sir George Musgrave of Edenhall on both boards, spine decorated gilt in compartments, spine rubbed, a few leaves discoloured, small marginal repair to p. 123 of the "Analogia".
Note: Moule 475; Ferguson Mackenzie, p. 28. Moule pointing out that much has been added to the original work in this edition, including Mackenzie's Observations upon the laws and customs of nations as to precedency, and the Analogia honorum: or, a treatise of honours and nobility, according to the laws and customs of England with sections on the duties of an herald, officers of arms, and a dictionary of heraldic terms. All of the portraits have been retouched, with the portrait of Charles II by Sherwin altered to show the features of George I.
Provenance: With the signature on the title-page of Sir George Musgrave of Edenhall and his arms on the covers, and the armorial book-plate of R.C. Gale.
