Footnote
The Patek Philippe Calatrava is widely regarded as one of the defining dress watches of the twentieth century. Introduced in 1932 as the Calatrava 96, it emerged during the financial turmoil of the Great Depression, shortly after Jean and Charles Henri Stern acquired Patek Philippe. The Calatrava soon became an icon of the maison with numerous references following suit across the decades. The reference 3445 was introduced in 1961 and is celebrated as Patek’s first automatic watch to feature a date display.
