Description
all watercolour on paper, including a PORTRAIT OF STEPHEN RAM (BRITISH B.1819), wearing brown frock coat with buff trousers, striped waistcoat and tied black stock with pin, a broad brimmed top hat in his left hand, signed in gold on the obverse and dated Fois Rochard 1841, inscribed on the mount jour à Gauche, octagonal, 33.5cm (13 3/16in) high; together with a PORTRAIT OF MRS MUSSON, wearing pink dress with puffed imbecile sleeves, large gold brooch set with a green stone at her breast, fine gold necklace falling to her waist, gold bracelets on her wrists, gauze scarf with floral embroidery wrapped around her arms and skirt, her hair dressed in ringlets with a bandeau worn low on her brow, seated in an outdoor setting, a sprig of flowers held in her left hand, signed in gold on the obverse and dated F. Rochard 1840, inscribed on the mount jour à Gauche, inscribed on the reverse ‘Mrs Musson (wife of John Musson QC)/ Daughter of Mrs McLachlan/ (my great aunt) Born 1813 m.1833/ Painted in Paris in 1840’, 0ctagonal, 34cm (13 3/8in) high; a PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG BOY', wearing a black velvet coat over tartan tunic with buttoned front and white collar, white drawers and black slippers, holding a riding crop in his right hand, standing in an outdoor setting, a black top hat and white handkerchief resting on a plinth to the left, signed in gold on the obverse and dated Fois Rochard 1850, rectangular, 38.5cm (15 3/16in) high; and a PORTRAIT OF A LADY, wearing a pale blue dress piped with ribbon and trimmed with flounces of lace at the neck and sleeves, sash with gold buckle at her waist, diamond-shaped brooch at her breast, fine gold chain around her neck and brown shawl wrapped around her arms, her fair hair dressed in ringlets, seated in an outdoor setting, signed in gold on the obverse and dated Fois Rochard 1840, inscribed on the mount jour à Gauche, octagonal, 34.5cm (13 9/16in) high, all in matching gilded wood frame with composition decoration (4)
