HMS Victory, constructed from 6000 trees, mostly oak, was launched in 1765. She was a significant ship in British naval history, playing a crucial role in the American Revolutionary War, the French Revolutionary War and the Napoleonic Wars. It served as the flagship of Admiral Horatio Nelson during the Battle of Trafalgar on 21st October, 1805. She served as a harbour ship from 1824 until 1922, when she was placed in dry dock at Portsmouth, where she is now maintained as a museum ship.
