the brass half basket single bar hilt with pierced floral design to the outer edge of the guard and a laurel pattern on the pommel, stamped '61777' to the outer edge of the guard, the grip carved in walnut, back edge of the blade is engraved 'Manufacture nationale d'armes de Chatellerault février 1915 Adj't d'Infrie Mle 1845' and the ricasso is stamped J C within individual circles, steel scabbard with matching numbers '61777' &amp; 'JC'
