Description
the dial with a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and marked at the five minute intervals with Arabic numbers, the spandrels with gilt winged putto masks, in an ebony case with a pierced basket top and loop handle, the glazed side panels with pierced gilt bronze sound openings above, the movement with a silent pull cord quarter repeat and two bell strike on the hours and quarters, verge escapement, the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls and a central cartouche signed 'Samuel Watson', the bottom of one plate with the initials 'S.V.' and dated 1687
