Description
the break arch brass dial with a silvered Roman and Arabic numeral chapter ring with subsidiary regulating and strike/silent dials, with a date aperture above the VI and pierced brass spandrels, signed at the top of the arch 'Matthew Hill/ Devonshire Street/ London'; in an ebonised case with a bell top and brass loop handle and acorn finials to the corners, the sides with brass fret panels, raised on brass ogee bracket feet, the eight day movement with verge escapement and hour strike on a bell, with a foliate scroll engraved backplate signed 'Mattw Hill/ London'
