of Captain John Howie of the 2nd Regiment of Renfrewshire Local Militia, [1808-14], fitted with epaulettes to both shoulders; together with a shoulder-belt plate struck with the regimental badge and title; and an officer's gorget of 1796 Universal Pattern [4]

Renfrew (ED) Volunteers became part of 2nd Renfrewshire Local Militia in 1808; there were 3 regiments of RLM; Captain 2nd RLM 19th June 1810;
All 3 Renfrewshire Local Militia's were disbanded in 1814.
