Provenance
Presented to Abbey Church, Edinburgh, in 1893 by David Robertson, a merchant of Leith. Abbey Church was built at the foot of Montrose Terrace in 1875 and closed in 1975, merging with Greenside Church. The building was then demolished in the early 1990s and selected contents then formed part of the contents of Greenside Church, Edinburgh, until its recent deconsecration.
