Footnote
Note: John Bright (1811-1889) was a Quaker and Liberal Statesman and was Member of Parliament for Durham. Together with Richard Cobden he formed the Anti-Corn Law League and was regarded as one of the greatest orators of his generation. He is famous for coining the phrase "The mother of parliaments" in a speech at Birmingham on 18 January 1865. It was a reference to England and his actual words were: "England is the mother of parliaments"
