Footnote
This is a reproduction of a 1906 drawing by Picasso, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Scofield Thayer was an American poet, publisher and editor in chief of Dial magazine and was well-known for his significant art collection. He published the 'Living Art' portfolio as a celebration of works from his own collection, which he believed were examples of the best art of the period. He bequeathed all the works featured to the Met.
