Note: Published between 1779 and 1791 in instalments, it was the fist book on exotic butterflies arranged according to the Linnean system. Pieter Cramer, a wool merchant with an interest in butterflies died in 1777 and the work was continued by Stoll. In all, over 440 hand coloured plates depicting over 1650 species life size were issued
