Description
London: Jonathan Cape, 1922. First edition, first impression, presentation copy from Nicholson to Stanley Kennedy North, with an original pen-and-ink sketch by Nicholson to the initial blank, inscribed ‘from W. N.’ and incorporating a weathervane with the compass points ‘S’ and ‘N’ standing for North's initials. Together with 2 copies of North's book, 'Mr. North's Maggott' (London: privately published, 1921, oblong 8vo, original wrappers, one copy inscribed ‘With best wishes from S. Kennedy North, Xmas 1922’ and with manuscript limitation of 500 copies to inside front cover, contents near-loose in wrappers, held by a sliver of the original green silk cord, the other copy loose in wrappers), and 2 further books (5)
