First edition, 4 volumes, one of 600 copies, 4to, original cloth, 90 chromolithographic plates, 88 photogravure plates by Thorburn, Gronwold and others, 16 maps, bookplate of the Barons Sherborne in each volume, gilt title to front board and spine, top edge gilt, boards worn and damp-stained in areas, corners bumped, foxing to many of the tissue guards, volume IV leaves damp-stained to page 15 (4)
