First edition, 3 volumes, 8vo (21.5 x 13.5cm), contemporary half roan, with 4 maps (3 folding) and 14 plates with tissue guards (13 coloured lithographs, 1 uncoloured wood engraving), book label of St. George R.Y.S., volume 1 lacking plate (The Takhtrawan; or grandee's litter), map torn with loss of text, without advertisements on free endpapers, volume 3 lacking half-title and 1 plate (The pretty Bedouin girl), some spotting to text and plates, bindings and spines scuffed [Abbey Travel 368];
together with another copy of volume 1 in original blue cloth and with publisher's catalogue at end, folding map and leaf of errata loose, and further copies of volumes 2 and 3 in half calf with marbled boards with book label of the English Reading Rooms Madeira, these 3 volumes with all text and plates present, volume 2 spine perished, upper joint cracked and lower board loose, volume 3 upper joint cracked and lower board loose, spotting and soiling to text and plates, bindings worn (6)
