Description
[Manuscript] Eastwood, Benjamin. Sudd and Lilies: a Journey round Lakes Kioga [Kyoga] and Kivania [Kwania] and Neighbouring Waters. [1916]. Unpublished account of journey undertaken in Uganda in May 1916, Eastwood at the time was General Manager of the Uganda Railway, having served on the Ugandan railways since 1897 as an accountant, and having recovered from losing his right arm in 1902 after being charged and tossed by a rhinoceros, 4to-size lined notebook, text handwritten on rectos only of 72 leaves, foliated by the author, with large blueprint folding map of the Eastern Province [Region] of Uganda pasted onto front free endpaper, half leather with blue cloth boards (faded);
