Fac-simile (From Photogravure Blocks) of the original Kilmarnock Edition 1786. Kilmarnock: D. Brown & Co., 1909. 8vo (22 x 14cm), 240 pp., 20th-century light brown crushed morocco with brown and tan morocco onlays depicting a harvest mouse in a wheat field (the ‘tim'rous beastie' of ‘To a Mouse’), gilt accents to cover design, raised bands and gilt title to spine, top edge gilt, others untrimmed, inner dentelles in blind, housed in a custom book-form quarter morocco solander box with tartan cloth lining

This facsimile edition of Burns' work was originally bound in paper wrappers. According to a laid-in handwritten note the present binding was executed by one Fraser Wilson while working for Tom Valentine (a noted Falkirk binder) for a competition.
