Description
十九至二十世紀 刺繡花卉紋流蘇披肩 及 刺繡花鳥紋彩帨(共三件)
comprising: a silk shawl, worked in polychrome silks, the ivory coloured silk ground embroidered with flowers and stylised foliate trails, applied with a four-sided deep silk with a fringe along the narrowest edges; and two ties decorated with birds and flowers, each of tapered form with peacocks and flowers worked in brightly coloured silks on a blue ground (3)

The silk shawl acquired by Lady Edith Stewart Lockhart (1870-1950); The ties acquired by Sir James Stewart Lockhart (1858-1937);
Gifted to their daughter, Mary Stewart Lockhart (1894-1985);
Presented by the above to George Watson’s College, Edinburgh in 1967;
Lent to the National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh (2003-2025).
