Yokoe Yoshizumi graduated from the Tokyo Academy of Fine Arts (1914) and was accepted for the first time at the 12th Bunten Exhibition in 1918. He was selected for numerous art exhibitions and won many prizes. He was a judge for the Teiten Exhibition in 1929, and a councillor for the Nitten Exhibition in 1952. He visited Europe in 1930 and 1936.
