cast bronze, the stylised figure with janus head, perforated through the centre, likely intended for use as a finial, the feline legs shown with an exaggerated broadness at the hips, prominent genitals, the arms clasped together at the narrow waist, raised on a bespoke mount

Footnote
The present piece demonstrates the melding of human and animal characteristics that was common in ancient Luristan art. It likely served as the finial at the top of a standard, as such, this image of a mythical beast or deity is likely to have possessed talismanic properties.
