Lucy Skaer trained at Glasgow School of Art. Her multimedia practice is both material and conceptual and includes the re-interpretation of found imagery.
Solo exhibitions include those staged in Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, Edinburgh, Ghent, London, Mexico City, New York and Salzburg. Group exhibitions include Until the Moon Comes Over the Mountain, FLAG Art Foundation, New York (2026) and Carnegie International, Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh (2018).
Skaer’s work is represented in public collections including the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, Museum of Modern Art, New York and National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh. She was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2009 and was one of six artists who represented Scotland at the 52nd Venice Biennale (2007). Skaer lives and works in Glasgow.
