John Lowrie Morrison OBE, known as JOLOMO, is one of Scotland’s most recognisable and widely collected contemporary artists.
Over a career spanning more than five decades, he has become closely associated with vivid, expressive depictions of Argyll and the Hebrides, capturing the light, colour, and atmosphere of Scotland’s west coast.
A graduate of the Glasgow School of Art, Morrison paints from his studio in Argyll, drawing continual inspiration from the surrounding landscape. His work frequently explores coastal and rural subjects, including lighthouses, crofting scenes, and the people of the region, rendered in a distinctive, bold palette.
JOLOMO has exhibited extensively in the UK and internationally, and his work remains highly popular with collectors, celebrated for its immediacy, warmth, and strong sense of place.
