Jack Cunningham graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College (1972–76) and quickly established himself within Scotland’s academic silversmithing landscape.
He lectured at Falkirk College before joining the Glasgow School of Art, where he served as Head of Silversmithing & Jewellery (1990–2008). In 2008, he became Head of the School of Jewellery at Birmingham City University, later taking on visiting professorships in Europe and China.
Known as a contemporary narrative jeweller, Cunningham’s work utilises found objects and materials to explore memory and place.
