We are delighted to welcome you to our 05 June 2025 Scottish Paintings &amp; Sculpture auction, which will take place live in Edinburgh and online. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;Our flagship auction celebrates the best in Scottish art from the 18th to the 20th centuries. A special Joan Eardley collection showcases an early Arran work, pastels from a rediscovered Glasgow sketchbook, and a significant Catterline oil produced in her final years. The Scottish Colourists are represented by innovative works by F. C. B. Cadell, S. J. Peploe and G. L. Hunter, alongside several exceptional West Coast paintings by David Forrester Wilson, Maurice Greiffenhagen, and Glasgow Boys Edward Atkinson Hornel, George Henry and Joseph Crawhall. &nbsp;&nbsp;Further highlights include works by Samuel Bough, Robert Gemmell Hutchinson, Alberto Morrocco, and John Ritchie. Artists, Authors, Designers & Makers

Joan Eardley is famous for her work in Townhead in Glasgow and Catterline in Angus. Less well known, but nonetheless of significance is her connection to the Isle of Arran. 
While on Arran, the Eardley stayed with a friend in a tiny vernacular building known as the ‘Tabernacle’, rented from a Mrs Kelso. Mrs Kelso’s relative lived next door, and ‘Wee Jeannie’, as she was known, swiftly became drawn into Eardley’s orbit, both as a friend and an artistic muse.
