Iain Mackinnon - Chairman
After qualifying as a certified accountant in 1985 Iain focused on corporate finance advisory work forming his own firm I F Mackinnon & Company in 1997. Iain continues to serve, alongside his work with the firm, on the boards of numerous companies both public and private. Outside the office, Iain is a director of Garsington Opera, having been Chairman and overseeing its move to Wormsley in 2010 and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Having grown up in Edinburgh, Iain is looking forward to spending more time in the city again, as well as visiting Lyon & Turnbull’s other locations across the UK.

Philip Smith - Director
Philip joined Lyon & Turnbull in 2018 as Head of Modern Art & Design in London. After graduating with a Masters from the Courtauld Institute in London in 2007, Philip began his career at a leading auction house in the South of England, developing sales with particular focus on Cotswold and modernist furniture and studio & contemporary ceramics and craft, handling a number of important works of art and collections over his career in the industry. Within the field of contemporary craft Philip is now seen as one of the leading advocates of this area in the auction field.
