2026 marks a century since Lyon & Turnbullfirst sold works by the celebrated Scottish Colourists, namely F. C. B. Cadell, J. D. Fergusson, G. L. Hunter and S. J. Peploe. They are now recognised amongst the most important names in Scottish painting and twentieth-century Scottish art. To mark the occasion, the auction features a dedicated section of exceptional paintings by the Scottish Colourists including Cadell’s Interior: The Lady in Black, Fergusson’s Busy Day, Princes Street, Hunter’s Grapes, Lemons and Pomegranates in a Silver Dish with Wine Glasses and a Loaf of Bread and Peploe’s The White Dress.
Further highlights of Scottish art featured in the auction include works by Alan Davie, Joan Eardley, Sir William George Gillies, George Henry, Sir John Lavery, John Maclauchlan Milne, William McTaggart, Arthur Melville, Archibald Thorburn, Anne Redpath and Jack Vettriano.
