The Ancien Regime history painting Psyche Abandoned by Cupid by Jean-Baptiste-Henri Deshays (1729-65) sold for £67,700 while leading a group of 16th century and later allegorical and classical sculptures was a 67cm high Carrara marble copy of the San Ildefonso Group - the Roman sculpture of the mythological twins Castor and Pollux that was excavated sometime at the beginning of the 17th century and is now in the collection of the Museo del Prado, Madrid. It was guided at £6000-9000 but commanded £75,200.
