All our sales are fully illustrated online ahead of the sale. Additional images and condition report information is also available online (just sign in/ register).
If you are interested in a lot(s) from any forthcoming sale you can request condition reports via our website. If you would like to speak to a specialist about a particular lot, or require additional images/videos, our team are available via email, telephone or video call.

Bid live in all our sales from the comfort of your home or office, for no additional surcharge, with Lyon & Turnbull Live. Just follow the link at the head of every online catalogue, lot page or on the auction calendar.
All our sales are also available for viewing and live bidding on The-Saleroom, Invaluable and Live Auctioneers (an additional surcharge is charged by these services)
If you are logged into our Lyon & Turnbull account online, you can leave an absentee bid online by selecting the 'Leave a Bid' option on your chosen lot. Alternatively you can call us on 0131 557 8844 or email email@example.com. Please note that our bid department may contact you for further details.
Bid by telephone - our clerk will call you on the auction day, just before your lot(s) come up, and bid on your behalf live at the auction when instructed to do so. If you would like to bid by telephone please contact our team prior to the auction with your details of the lots you are interested in and your full name, mailing address, telephone number(s) and email.
Limited spaces will be available for those looking to bid in the room in selected auctions. Slots must be booked in advance and masks must be worn for the duration. See our Auction Calendar for more info.

We offer by appointment collections and drop-offs to both private individuals and professional carriers. For the comfort and safety of our staff and clients this service will be strictly by appointment, as well as a requirement for applicable Covid-safe measures.

We are able to provide you with an estimated UK shipping quote from art and antiques shipping specialists Mailboxes Etc. for applicable items (see the Shipping Estimate tab on the lot detail pages). Please note larger items and international purchases will require a "price on application" quote request.
We automatically apply an estimated UK shipping quote to as many lots as possible prior to the auction (predominantly for smaller items such as works of art, smaller paintings, ceramics/ glass, etc).
Before bidding, you can see how much it would cost to have the lot delivered to any address in the UK by clicking on the 'Shipping Estimate' tab on the lot detail page on our website.
For items we are unable to provide an estimated shipping quote for (typically larger lots such as furniture and pictures and for international shipping), a bespoke shipping estimate can be obtained from the Mailboxes Etc team through the "price on application" quote request form.
Successfully won a lot?
If you are successful in purchasing the lot, and if a shipping cost has been pre-allocated, you can view the associated shipping cost in the ‘My Account’ section of our website. If you are signed in to your account, this will show as your username/name on the far right of the top main menu. The estimated or bespoke shipping quote will also be linked to your invoice
Should you decide to accept the quote and use pre-quoted shipping service, simply click on the shipping icon under ‘My Account’, or follow the link on your invoice to add the cost
Even if you have already paid for your purchases, you may decide to add shipping at a later date and pay the balance. Use the link on your original invoice, or click the shipping icon under ‘My Account’
Once you agree to use the service, you will receive a confirmation email to acknowledge that you have added shipping to your invoice. You will receive a further email notifying you when your items have been dispatched.
You are, of course, very welcome to use alternative couriers. We include information alternative carriers on our Buying at Auction - Collections & Shipping page or in your invoice.
Please note all shippers are third parties and not part of Lyon & Turnbull Ltd.
Our accounts teams will continue to be available to process payments and answer queries. We will be able to accept online payments through our website and bank transfer.
On-site payment facilities are by appointment and no cash accepted. Please note our standard invoice payment terms will continue to apply.
