Lyon & Turnbull is delighted to present Paolo Scheggi’s Zone Riflesse (Reflected Zones), 1963 in London this October, ahead of its sale in our upcoming MODERN MADE auction on 30 October 2026. Offered on behalf of the Hugo Burge Foundation, the work will be on view at our Connaught Street location from 08 - 21 October 2026.
A leading figure of Spazialismo (Spatialism) and the Italian neo-avant-garde, Scheggi created Zone Riflesse as part of his celebrated series of layered monochrome works in the early 1960s. Constructed from three overlapping canvases punctuated by elliptical openings, the work changes according to light and the position of the viewer, making the opportunity to experience it in person particularly rewarding.
The viewing coincides with Frieze London and Frieze Masters, taking place from 14–18 October, and Zone Riflesse will initially be shown alongside our inaugural Prints / Editions auction preview before moving to our London Jewellery preview.

Following the London viewing, Zone Riflesse will be offered in MODERN MADE on 30 October 2026, Lyon & Turnbull’s specialist auction of Modern and Post-War Art and Design. The work is being sold by the Hugo Burge Foundation as part of its charitable aims to support the arts and crafts across the United Kingdom.
